Blockchains (smart contracts, distributed ledgers) and rights management broadly construed are the themes of today's Spotlight Applications. Assigned to Ericsson (SE), the first of today's applications discloses techniques for collaborative task offloading automation in smart containers. Assigned to Ting Tech, the second application discloses techniques for interactively broadcasting value via a sound, a Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth, an email, a messaging, an RFID, or an NFC to incentivize direct consumer engagement.

Abstract
A method is provided including receiving a first and second registration requests transmitted by a first and second smart containers, including first and second information identifying a first and second capabilities; and receiving a first request transmitted by the first smart container as a result of a failure experienced by the first smart container, identifying a temporary capability. The method further includes, as a result of receiving the first request, determining that the second smart container can perform the temporary capability. The method further includes sending a second request to the second smart container, asking the second container to perform the temporary capability; receiving an acknowledgement message transmitted by the second smart container indicating that the second smart container accepts the second request; and, upon receiving the acknowledgement message transmitted by the second smart container, establishing a smart contract between the first smart container and the second smart container.

Abstract
A system, method, apparatus, and computer program product for interactively broadcasting value via a sound, a Wi-Fi, a Bluetooth, an email, a messaging, an RFID, or an NFC to incentivize direct consumer engagement. The system produces verifiable data on customer preferences, habits, and purchasing while using secure digital cryptographic technology to convey an item of value. The system is configured to transact a digital token normally carried on a blockchain leger in an off-ledger condition. The digital token is embedded with a media content. A mobile computing device having a representation of a digital wallet is configured to detect the digital token, decode the digital token and is transfer the digital token back to the blockchain ledger. When validated by the blockchain ledger, the digital token is transacted to a digital wallet on the blockchain ledger.
